A Success Story

In 2019, St Brigid’s Primary School in Coogee, part of the Sydney diocese, held a walk-a-thon as part of their Mission Day.

On 25 November 2019, students at St Brigid’s were encouraged to wear the colours of Ghana - red, yellow and green - and the school gathered together to walk three kilometres around the local Dunningham Reserve, along the beachfront, through to Grant Reserve.

Year 6 played an important role that day, creating badges for each member of their peer support group to wear throughout the day.

Maloney’s Grocer, a local retailer, generously donated fresh fruit for the students to snack on after the walk, which helped reenergise them for the following prayer service.

Using the online resources provided by Catholic Mission, the school held a prayer service to pray for children who are disadvantaged and who are in need.

St Brigid’s raised nearly $1,800 for children in Ghana and around the world through their Mission Day, which is such an amazing effort!
